I particularly enjoyed this logo design/branding project (and not just because of the free pizza I received after design meetings).

For the logo I created a simple picturemark based on a pizza and a wheel — Pizza Mondo is a mobile van-based pizzeria (and I have to say they make probably the best pizzas in Cambridgeshire). As my family tucked into our free pizza after my first meeting I was inspired by my kids happy faces as they tucked in from all sides. I realised one of the great things about pizza is how they can be shared, so for this logo design I used simple pizza topping shapes to create a face that beams out at you whichever angle you approach the pizza from. I’ve used shades of blue for the identity (Italy isn’t just about the red, white and green, azure blue is actually the national colour of Italy). The distressed effect is a nod towards the messy fun pizzas bring, and worked really well on the van wrap I subsequently designed and other print media, creating a really unique brand that helps Pizza Mondo stand out from the crowd.
