Alzheimer’s Research UK has teamed up with Deutsche Telekom and scientists from University College London and the University of East Anglia to develop Sea Hero Quest, a smartphone game that re-writes the rules on how dementia research is done. It is such a clever idea, anyone who plays Sea Hero Quest can also play a part in helping scientists understand how our brains navigate space. Thus this game has become the largest crowd-sourced database on human spatial navigation. For this banner design I’ve used a compilation of characters from the game, and the streak of purple that runs across is placed in such a way that it joins a similar line on the ordinary ARUK banners. This brings visual continuity and allows the banners to sit side-by-side and look related despite vastly different visual content.
